Tesla FSD v14 Lite for HW3: Europe and Australia Status
FSD (Supervised) v14 Lite is Tesla’s cut of FSD v14 for older Hardware 3 cars. It is out in North America and South Korea. Australia and New Zealand are in development, with no date. Europe has nothing yet, and Tesla hasn’t given a date.
FSD v14 Lite status, 11 October 2026
- North America: rolling out since 29 June 2026. v14.3 Lite reached early-access cars on 6 to 7 October.
- South Korea: rolling out since 10 July 2026, US-built Model 3 and Model Y only.
- Australia and New Zealand: in development, no date.
- Europe and the UK: not shipped, no date.
What is FSD v14 Lite?
HW3 has far less computing power and memory bandwidth than HW4. Tesla builds the Lite version by distillation: it takes what the HW4 v14 models learned and compresses it into a model HW3 can run. Tesla told Australian owners in August that v14 Lite is designed to work within HW3’s capabilities while bringing v14 features.
It is still supervised driver assistance. The driver stays responsible.
Which Tesla cars get FSD Lite?
Lite is only for Hardware 3 (HW3, also called AI3) cars with FSD (Supervised) bought or subscribed. That is broadly Model 3 and Model Y built from 2019 until HW4 arrived in 2023, plus some Model S and Model X from the same years. HW4 cars get the full v14 build.
There is no extra charge. Lite comes with FSD (Supervised), which costs $99 a month in the US. In South Korea, FSD has been subscription-only since 10 August 2026 at 150,000 won a month.

FSD v14 Lite in South Korea: US-built Model 3 and Model Y only
Tesla Korea started rolling out v14 Lite on 10 July 2026, in stages, to US-built Model 3 and Model Y with FSD. Korea was the second market after North America. Shanghai-built cars aren’t eligible.
The reason is trade law. Under the Korea-US free trade agreement, US-built cars can use US safety standards. China-built cars must meet Korean standards, and Korea has no standard or approval route for FSD yet. Tesla Korea data given to a National Assembly member put the eligible fleet at 53,477 of 238,968 registered Teslas, about 22%.
At the 8 October 2026 audit, Tesla Korea said it has never formally asked the transport ministry (MOLIT) to test FSD, and would cooperate if the government sets up a route. There is no timeline. See our South Korea page.
FSD v14 Lite in Australia and New Zealand
In late August 2026 Tesla emailed HW3 owners: “We’re currently rolling out FSD (Supervised) v14 Lite to users in North America and South Korea, with active development underway for Australia and New Zealand.” The email gave no build and no date, and no Lite build has shipped there since. HW4 cars in both countries already run FSD (Supervised) v14. See our Australia page.
Why FSD Lite isn’t in Europe yet
No Lite version has shipped in Europe or the UK, and Tesla hasn’t named a date. Its August email to Australian owners didn’t mention Europe.
There are two queues. First, approval: FSD (TAD) is approved in only eight EU countries, on eligible HW4 cars, and not in the UK. Second, software: European cars with FSD (TAD) run v14.2.2.x, a separate branch from the North American builds. Which build European cars may run is tied to the approval process, so a North American Lite release doesn’t carry over.
That is also why this page’s title says FSD v14 Lite and not FSD (TAD). Tesla Assisted Driving is the European name, and Lite isn’t a European product yet. Track approvals on the EU tracker.
What’s in the FSD v14 Lite release notes
The release notes for v14 Lite list:
- Distillation from HW4 v14, including reinforcement learning and offline model gains
- Better handling of navigation, merges, forks, pedestrians, traffic lights and cut-ins
- Fewer false slowdowns and smoother steering
- New parking, unparking and reversing
- Arrival options: Parking Lot, Street, Driveway or Curbside
- Speed profiles available at all times
TeslAnt reported on 8 October that the v14.3 Lite notes are word for word the same as v14.2 Lite, so Tesla hasn’t said what changed.
What HW3 owners said
Early US reaction in June was strong. @BLKMDL3 posted after an all-night drive:
FSD v14 Lite on HW3 feels as good as v14 to me on an AI4 vehicle. Massive improvement in every scenario tested. Mind-blowing engineering achievement.
BLKMDL3 (@BLKMDL3) 29 June 2026
Early reports also noted misread speed limits from nearby roads, cautious braking for pedestrians on the verge and small parking alignment issues.
